It`s a blessing!

Hi my friends! Sorry for not writing lately, but I was in Kosovo AGAIN over the Weekend. For no special reason, just because. Now I`m back, and I wanted to post some pictures that I took on Thursday afternoon when I was out for a walk with the kids around the lake. We had ice cream first, and after that we walked through a, it must be over 5 km long walk. I was surprised how my 3 year old walked, and ran without getting tired. Well he was at the end, but just before we arrived at the apartment. We had a blast together, it was nice to see the kids rosy cheeks, and smiley faces as they ran, goofed around, chasing each other. Check it out, and the beautiful sunset that we had.

Snow-covered Spring!

Hi guys! I`m baack!! Sorry for my long absence but I was in Kosovo during the week, and I just got back. I finally got to experience snow, and actually TOUCH snow. It snowed the next day I got there. It was a really pleasant surprise for us, especially for the kids because they got to make a snowman. The snow did not last for long though thank God, it melted by the end of the day. That`s when the Spring flowers popped out again with their bright yellow colors. We had a really nice family get-together once again and we even had an addition to our family. My brother and sister-in-law had another baby boy. Congrats to them, he is such a cutie. Anyways I took some pictures of the beautiful snow (and hopefully last snow for this year). Hope you guys like them. xoxo Besa

I love this picture!

This is how much I loved the snow!

These pictures were taken on my family side.

Now entering Albania!

Long walk

Wow, I must say every time a go out for a walk I tell myself that I need to do this more often, and somehow I never manage to do it. Silly I know, well I guess it`s been raining a lot lately that`s why I haven`t done it. Anyways, this morning I did go for a long walk, a lot of other people did too, young, old, males, females, overdressed old age men who actually wear some kind of suit and just taking a slow walk with their other old age friend, and talking politics. You`d be amazed how well older people dress here, most of them probably  highly educated, and dress up to maintain that authority and display that personality of some higher character. I don`t even know if I`m expressing my self right but I`m sure you get what I mean. I just Looove the nature, my 1 hour walk felt more like 10 min, just because I was so caught up watching, listening, experiencing and embracing mother nature. Not one second of watching does it look the same, there is so much to enjoy, those trees, the lake and there was even this guy who had climbed up this very high tree, picking these yellow flowers growing on it. I have seen there are a lot of people selling them in town, but I`m not quite sure what they use them for, maybe to make tea or like some kind of herb. I managed to take a picture of that guy on the tree. I hope you can see him on one picture. The photos were taken with my cellphone so I had to edit them a little because of the lower quality camera. Here they are I hope you see what I`m talking about. Enjoy and please let me know if you have any opinion at all..xoxo Besa

Looking through the fence!

As I was looking through my pictures I found this picture of the two tigers at the zoo that I have taken through a fence. Then I found another picture that I have previously taken in in the same way but in a different environment. beauty behind the fence must have really struck me ! tigerstigers2tigers3garden

There, now you see what I mean! The tigers are so beautiful no matter what color you put them in. The lower picture is of someones garden in Sweden! Enjoy! BB

Kruje, Albania

_Kruje 26-1-2013 022Kruje 26-1-2013 020VintageColors_3_Kruje 26-1-2013 025_Kruje 26-1-2013 035 Today I went to visit the famous ancient city Kruje, of Albania. Me and my family visited the  very popular and attractive museum, and castle of Skenderbeu. Skenderbeu was an Albanian warrior, who lived around 500 years ago, he fought for his Country, against the Ottoman empire. Even today, Albanians still admire his courageousness as a worrior, and his love for his beloved Albania… I got to enjoy seeing many beautiful, antic stuff that were there for tourists to see and buy. Among many, many other things I saw this dress, or more of a traditional costume dress, made from wool, in beautiful black and white stripes, and beeadings on the chest area. The hat is a traditional hat as well that I got to try on, with     Lires (goldcoins) around. One of my favourites was this beautiful velvet blue, handmade jacket, with silver embroidery, so beautiful. I still have so many, many more places to visit, and enjoy here in Albania. This Country is a true treasure of history, culture and tradition. It really makes me proud to state that I, myself am of Albanian blood 🙂 To me this was truly a great, and important experience to have, I feel like I need to learn more of my great and amazing ancestors. This was like a visit back in time, simply amazing   – BB
